Elephantstayer review

An amazing week - one we will never forget!
Our family of 4 (including children aged 12 and ðŸ˜Ž wanted a hands-on experience with Elephants. We dont mind getting back to basics and getting dirty, and we wanted to get involved (not just watch).
We got all that and more at Elephantstay.
All of the wonderful people who work there made us feel a part of the place from the first day. There was no pressure to do anything we didnt want to do, and there were clear guidelines and expectations set right up front.
The pace is relaxed, with plenty of time to do your own thing in between the daily routine of looking after your elephants.

All babies welcome!

We welcome all ages to our program as you are never too young to meet and interact with elephants. Being an elephant village we have many babies both 4 and 2 legged! Jumpee loves babies and so do the mahouts as you can see Bee was very taken with baby Gac and both he and Jumpee looked after Gac as if he was their own.

Our one day program in the picture!

We do offer a one day elephant program at Elephantstay (cost 5,000 Baht per person). This follows our normal longer program for elephants as described on our website. Availability is limited, so please contact us by email: info@elephantstay.com

Since 2000 we have had 70 successful births. Considering there are only 3,500 registered elephants in Thailand and limited forest for sustaining wild populations, our breeding program is vital to ensuring elephants survive into the future and that there is genetic diversity amongst the population. The majority of our mothers have given tourists rides until closer or even up to the time they give birth. Which proves how effective the socialization and exercise is to giving successful births.

Welcome back to Sharon

Welcome back to Sharon! Sharon came 10 years ago and the last thing she said when she was getting in the car to leave was I will be back. Her advice is don't leave it for 10 years! Sharon cared for Pisamy the first time who has since passed, but she is loving caring for Rasamee.

Gill Appleyard about Elephantstay

Elephantstay was recommended to me in 2013 by a friend who has visited the place on numerous occasions. I decided to come for a 3 day stay in 2013, and totally fell in love with the place and am now on my 4th visit. The love, care and concern that the elephants are shown is truly amazing. Everyone from management,  to the housekeepers and mahouts show a lot of concern and care for their guests and truely make sure that you have a wonderful experience. Everything about Elephantstay is beyond fantastic and I would recommend that if you have the opportunity to come and stay, book a flight now! It is a once in life time experience.

March 22, St. Stephen International School in Bangkok

Great morning at St. Stephen's International School in Bangkok where we gave a talk to 65 5 and 6 year old children about Elephantstay and hgow awesome Elephants are. The kids had some great questions and written some lovely poems about Elephants. They also had a fundraiser and donated 30,000 Baht to Elephantstay. Thanks to all who made that happen!
